gator32
I have a 2004 21 Master angler with a Yamaha 250 HPDI. The current prop is a Yamaha 15" with a 21 pitch 3 blade. It only lets me get to 5300 rpm's and purposes without lowering the trim tabs. I just tried a friends 14" 4 blade prop and was able to get up to 5800 rpms and 58 mph. That was without any tilt. It also helped the purposing, and the steering to port that is hard with my 3 blade. Any suggestions on a new prop.
triplec
Never propped a 21 but this guy has I would say: marcus@ptprop.com http://www.ptprop.com Marcus was VERY helpful dialing in what I needed for my 18. Knows a bunch about MBC line and how they will perform with what. Others will chime in too I am sure with some sources. Welcome to the forum...always good to have another MA owner aboard
oldsalt
I think you should be spinning a 23 pitch on that 250. I have the Yammy 21 M on my 175 HPDI. Runs to high 50s and never porpoises. A call to Marcus at Power Tech is a good use of your time.

fsusteve
Running an OFX4 21p on the same set up as OP, no porpoising or need for tabs, ran a OFX 3 21p that had been cupped same thing also squared up with rpms and speed. Want to try a 22, ran an OFX 4 20p, and the results were less than stellar.
captpn
Gator, What pitch and make is the 4 blade? Those numbers sounds very close to perfect. I currently have an OFX3 21 on mine, and have the same issues as you. Its too much prop. Its running 40mph@3600, and 58mph@5300 light, but with 2 and the live well full holeshot is poor. OFX4 19 is what i'm trying next because it has more stern lift to fix the porposing, and a ported pitch reduction for holeshot. Hoping it will run square rpm/speed. To me, its best to have a little less top speed and better everything else. Funny how everyone's numbers are different.
