geeviam
Yeah, the Zuke 90 is the lightest 4-stroke 90 around, but it's still heavy when compared to the 2-stroke. You probably already know this, but I'll offer advice anyway. It's better for your new motor, not to run it too slow and easy during break-in. Keep it on plane while varying the speed. And, if your break-in period is 10 hours like my Yamaha, and you have 5 hours on the motor, it's time to take it to wide open throttle, to set the rings, and hold it there for about 10 seconds or so, and then back down and continue with the remaining 5 hours of break-in procedure. Hopefully your prop will spin up to 6200 to 6300 rpm with a light load, because that's where your best all around performance will come from. Good luck! FLboy159
This is my first brand new engine, always have had used ones. So the break in process is new to me. I’ll take any advice. And the last two fishing trips have been super choppy so haven’t been able to open her up more. Also my engine mechanic said 5800 should be my ideal spot. Thanks for the advice.

FLboy159
Figured with the down time I’d add some more nonskid. Had enough supplies to work on the bow area.
