whichwaysup
MD - happy to talk to you about it - a lot will depend on where and how you plan to use the boat. I spend a lot of time in the NC Marshes in the summer months, and yes, I pole that boat all over the place. It can be done, and done relatively easily. . . but if it were my primary kind of fishing, I'd look at different boats. The boat's realistic draft is probably 10-12 inches, but mine is fully loaded, and I could probably get it a lot lighter if I cared. I don't have to pole in less than a foot, though, so it is fine. The boat's main draw is it's ability to handle bigger water - Many folks will tell you it handles bigger water as well as a 22 pathfinder (I've had guides who have had both say this). The sharp entry, combined with trim tabs makes for an exceptional ride. If you fish 1' water but have to cross nasty stuff, it's the ideal platform. It can be poled well for short distances or all day long on calm days and light current.
