fishingfool485
Just purchased a used 2500. The boat has a ton of extras. One thing I did notice is the Factory installed JL audio system doesn’t have an amp. I checked the console and I couldn’t locate one. Is this normal? I asked the owner for the build sheet but he couldn’t find it. Thanks
Vapor Trail
Mine didn’t come with one either even though I added more speakers from the factory so I had a local stereo wizard add an amp and a bug sub. He double checked factory work and discovered one of their speakers was wired backwards
Austin01
I added an amp to mine along with a jl m3 10”. It really woke the system up. M800 with 6 house and the sub. It’s not to hard to do.
pbspecial
I have two amps, one 600 and one 400 JL, powering two pair of 8.8s and one pair of 7.7's. Sounds incredible, can hear clearly at speed. No sub needed with the 8.8's unless you want to rattle all your screws loose 🙂 . the 7.7s are in the stock holes up on front of the step, one set of 8.8's on either side of the console and one set in the rear bulkhead under the flip up seats. fishingfool485
Thank you. Sounds like I’ll be adding a JL amp to my system. I thought maybe it was an oversight

fishingfool485
Thanks Austin01. As soon as I purchase an amp I will definitely hit you up 👍
Bloch776
I’m in the process and have a few questions about how you guys wired yours in. I can’t figure out how to wire in the remote wire from the stereo. If I don’t use that feature should I just send the positive lead to the battery switch so it turns on with the batteries? Thanks
Austin01
The remote wire should be blue on the jl mm units. I cut mine from the quick connect block and wired straight to the amp. I don’t think I would want it on the battery switch. I placed mine on a 60 amp breaker. If you have an extra space on the breaker panel it makes a clean look in the dash. Bloch776
Yea I’ve got an infinity head unit in the boat. Was in it when I bought it. I’ve tried to do some research about that and can’t find anything. I guess I’ll try the blue wire I’d imagine they’re pretty standard
