Probably depends on your application. I prefer a 4 blade when I want to get up on plane quickly in shallow water. In my experience I felt a 3 blade typically had better top end performance but for my application in skinny water I'd give up a few MPH for less bow rise, less stern squat and shallower running at lower RPMs.

some captains on here will probably receommend some good prop experts you can reach out to. For me Caribee Marine in Islamorada set my 18 RF up for optimum all around performance
