For some unknown reason, we've had a big flock of white pelicans on our lake for the last 5 years or so. They only arrive after a big cold front and only stay a few days. The flock almost acts like a single organism. If one bird grooms, they all start grooming, when one bird jumps in the water and starts swimming, they all follow, one by one.
