jh141
Love when the White Pelicans come down every winter. They always stick very close together and are larger than their brown cousins. Thanks for sharing.
MA/1607
love it, camped down there a few weekends ago on new turkey with my son on his boat and we saw them flying in massive numbers
SCFD rtrd.
Nice pic, thanks for posting. I've lived on a lake just north of Orlando for over 40 years. For some unknown reason, we've had a big flock of white pelicans on our lake for the last 5 years or so. They only arrive after a big cold front and only stay a few days. The flock almost acts like a single organism. If one bird grooms, they all start grooming, when one bird jumps in the water and starts swimming, they all follow, one by one. Here they are all dipping their beaks in for breakfast. OK, everybody groom Good flyers The nice couple, that's Mr Pelican in the back.
