Briggs 8500/5500W generator

Recommended Posts

I just purchased a much larger generator For the entire home, so I need to let this one go. It’s a Briggs & Stratton 8500/5500W portable generator with 1 - 30A, 120/240v receptacle, and 4 - 120v receptacles. The generator is in incredible condition for its age (15yrs or more). It belonged to a elderly family member that never used it (not once that I know of)  I have used it during 2 hurricanes and a few smaller outages. The unit will power most of my larger appliances and LED lighting in the house at one time. It’s possible you could run a smaller AC unit with nothing else running on the generator. I run this generator in the driveway about once a month WITH A LOAD on it (the proper way to run any generator). Since I’ve owned it , it has only run non-ethanol 89 gasoline. As you can see by the pics, it’s been well taken care of and runs and powers flawlessly.  Local sale/pick-up only in Savannah area. Call or text 912-four four 1-1 two zero 1. $475 firm

I will check with my son to see if he needs one. Live in N. FL. Have you ever tried to power you hot water heater with it?

I apologize for not seen this sooner.
I haven’t personally tried my water heater with this one, but I’m sure you would have no issue doing so, especially if you were picking and choosing which appliances you were powering.

Still waiting for my son to make a decision. He has been trying to put the emergency genie back in the bottle at work so focus is on that. Should know by the weekend. If you sell it by the weekend just post it as sold and I will end my inquiry.

Still available. I’ve had a handful of half-hearted inquiries, but nothing serious.
