Big Dave Posted September 11, 2016 Report Share Posted September 11, 2016 Ray, I fished yesterday. The situation near Flamingo is dire. We've lost over 50,000 acres of grass flats. Water was muddied up from the rains, made sight fishing very challenging. Fishing the past several weeks has not been good at all. I ran east yesterday all the way to Calusa Key and fished many of the keys in that area. The water is pristine, as usual (there was an incoming tide) and the grass seems healthy. Fishing was just "ok", but there were storms in the area, and I'm sure the barometric pressure had an effect. Fishing up towards Shark River and areas to the north has been good. Ray TO ALL -- Just talked with Breezy Palms today, Sunday 9/11. They have 2 poolside one bedroom apartments that opened up, 1 ground floor and 1 upstairs. Zero boat slips.
