flatsdoctor
Hi Paul!! No one had any energy left, specially the Tarpon. After 1 hr + fighting it, we were more concerned of reviving her before release. Happy to just take pictures. We were using a heavy rig (G Loomis Saltwater with 30 lb PowerPro and 80 lb leader) and still took a long time to tame. Estimated it to be > 6 feet long (fork) and the width around 14" (girth of almost 48") I couldn't wrap my arms around it. I think it may have been 180 lbs or more. The amount of bait there is incredible, Spinner sharks and black tips were hitting mullet schools, jumping out of the water. Newman (the guide) told me those fish can gain 30 lbs or more while there. This was a FAT GIRL!! But then, by next month it will probably be >200 lbs :content:
