thereject
Does anyone know if a Simrad 12” and 7” will fit next to each other? I’m placing an order now and plans are to go with a nss12 and Mercury vessel view 7 in the dash. Will be running a 350 verado. Thanks! Moderator
Just looking at photos, you should be able to set it up. If you are near one, bring a camera and a tape. Perhaps an owner can chime in with some measurements. You can also call the factory and ask for the console measurements. Use cardboard for a mock up and cut out your faceplates. Figure out where you want them.. Marc
thereject
There are none instock by me. Skip said he wasn’t sure. It sure looks like enough room but hard to tell looking at photos. I saw a thread on another forum where someone said they used dual 10” screens but no pics.
Moderator
Maybe you can find a console photo with a known GPS unit installed. Then the math is possible. You can get a compatible gps and display your engine functions on-screen. Then it doesn't matter how close to center of running sight you mount the Merc screen. I'll poke around for a photo.. Anyone sure about the console: Unique to the Hybrid, or same face as other models ?? Marc
RCW
I have a 12" in my console because my dealer told me the 16" would not fit. Another 7" would be tight. I can get some measurements for you later today if you need them?
thereject
That would be awesome! I would think the issue with the 16 is height not width.
RCW
I did not make it home in time last night to measure but here is a picture of my dash. The 12" display fills it up pretty good.
fin-addict
The twelve looks great, great layout.
finbully
I doubt a 7 will fit next to the 12. I have an NSS12 Evo3 in my 2500 and there is about 6" of width left. If the VHF above is a Standard Horizon GX1600 or 1700 it measures 5.9" x 3.4" which is what I am mounting next to my Simrad and below the JL audio head in my boat. thereject
Well that ***. It is what is is. Certainly doesn’t look like it will fit. I know someone just did a build with dual 10” Garmins. Wonder how he got those to fit?
Vapor Trail
I'm not a Garmin fan but I noticed while trying to figure out what to put on my boat they make the same models with and without the buttons so the width is less on the touch only ones. The boat manufacturers should list the dimensions of the mounting area a console has to work with on the specs on the web site .
finbully
Keep in mind if you go with Garmin (or Raymarine), they do not read Florida Marine Tracks in case you ever want to get that navigation aid.
thereject
I will be going simrad. Now the decision will be 10 and 7 or 12 and 5. Leaning towards the 12 and 5. I had a 12 in my 23 and don’t think I can go back smaller.
George Seither
Have you thought of just filling the available space with a 12" or greater and adding a RAM ball mount hung from the T top? or is the preference to have both dash mounted, 5" is a bit small, at least for me it is. Just a thought
thereject
Both dash mount. The 5 would just be basically a gauge. Mercury uses Simrad units for their displays. It would be very similar to the Yamaha 6yc gauge in the 5” model. I may just end up mounting it down below where they normally mount a them with just the 12 in the dash. The vessel view systems can double as gauges then also run full sounder, plotter, radar, etc. That’s the beauty of them being Simrad units. That was the only reason for wanting to dash mount rather than mount it below. So If I can squeeze a 7 in there next to the 12 it would be pretty beneficial to be up in the dash. George Seither
Playing with the idea of installing a second 9" in mine, 5" should make a great engine info display
RCW
I measured 22.5" across this weekend.
smilemaker
When you measured 22.5 are you giving room for the thickness of the console. Outside measurements don't always count.
RCW
That measurement is from outside edge to outside edge so you have less usable space than that.
marzomi
have a look at my 2500 console. Thats a simrad nss12 evo3 flush mounted with a 9" on a balzout mount.

Skip Skip, has the availability of the Mercury V8's improved and are they still an option for the larger Pathy's? I'm hearing that Mercury has possibly ramped up production and the wait is closer to 3-4 weeks now. A 25 Hybrid with a 300HP V8 would be a sweet ride. finbully
Here is what I did. 12" Simrad NNS EVO3 in the helm, 9" Simrad NSS EVO 3 to the front horizontal T-Top pipe. I like this set-up because I do not have to look down at the helm when it's foggy to see my radar/chart information.n
pbspecial
I just picked up my 2500 yesterday (great timing with this *** hurricane)...anyway I went with a NSS 12 Evo3, SImrad VHF, Simrad Auto Pilot and Fusion Apollo 770, all fit great, but It's pretty filled up. Here is my layout. Cant wait to get it on the water as soon as it all passes.....
