Vapor Trail
I have a fortress anchor that is the size recommended for my 2600 TRS and it won’t even come close to fitting in the anchor locker. Does anyone know of an anchor that will fit in there? See pic
fin-addict
Regular danforth style or you can cut the bar to fit and notch out where needed
Moderator
I see the base of the anchor is stopped too. That's too bad. Fortress is the best all around hook. I wouldn't cut out the plastic framer either.. Measure the width of the cutout, and the overall width for the forks.. Then hit W/M and bring a tape measure. Hit the anchor rack. Vapor Trail
I knew before hand I’d probably have to trim the rod length and that’s fine but stopped when I realized I’d have to cut away most of the fiberglass to fit the thickness of the anchor. I’m afraid cutting it would make the deck very weak
Tarpon1215
Doubt you would compromise deck integrity in that area.

HewesYourDaddy
Mantus anchor is the only one to have. Had to notch my locker out and no, it won’t affect deck integrity.
Vapor Trail
Does the mantus or sea claw work better in the current under the bridges in the Keys?
HewesYourDaddy
Works wonders everywhere. I call it the Ron Popeil anchor. “Set it, and forget it”! Hahaha
HewesYourDaddy
Oh, you’ll probably have to remove the roll-hoop to get it to work in your locker, but I haven’t had any real issue with the effectiveness when I did.

I haven't tried a Mantus. I have a Seaclaw. Never had an issue holding in current. I also run NO chain. I've heard of others using chain with a Seaclaw but I've never had a need for it. I have owned 4 of them....3 with my Pathy.....lost 1, used to have two on board when Tailing....and one now on my MA17. No needed chain...can be rigged as break away....I lost one in 125 feet off Islamorda on a wreck where I could not break away. BTW, don't forget to include your anchor ball as part of the purchase.... dc
