DavisIslander
I replaced my old Fuel/Water separator assembly and put a new canister in. Looks great and was able to generate good suction and it fired right up and my fuel starvation issue went away. Success! However, I've discovered a slight leak (gas) around the edge of the canister. Less than a drop on my finger. I hand-tightened it after watching a few videos saying not to cinch it down too much. Do I tighten more and risk damaging the seal? I'd rather have a squished seal than a blown-up boat. Answering my own question; just need a nod or two in agreement. Thanks!
mulligan
Before you go Hercules on the filter I would make sure you mating surface is clean. I know with some of the housings there can be stuff up there just from the metal they are made from. Or there even could be an old gasket on there, happened to me before. I am in the hand tighten plus about 1/4-1/2 turn camp when putting the filter back on.
fin-addict
I always make sure the gasket is glean and put a little oil on it to help with the seal, hand tighten then a little more.
