HewesYourDaddy
Thinking about adding a pop up lifting eye/cleat combo on the bow of my 1900T. Ther is currently no cleat there, so I will be cutting and adding one. Any suggestions on a particular brand or style? Advice on doing the job myself? SCFD rtrd.
Are going to support the weight of the boat with this lifting eye/cleat?
Hamfisted
Accon Marine bow lifting cleats. They tie into the bow tow/haul eye and support through the hull, rather than just lifting on the top cap. Accon Marine Bow Lift Cleat -Ham

That is the plan. I need a bow cleat since my boat doesn’t have one and I also am tired of using a sling on the bow to hoist the boat in at the marina. My 24 PF had the Accon Marine Bow Lifting cleat already installed when I bought it....I believe Hobo in Brunswick had installed it, and it worked great every time....I had the boat 10 years and never had a problem with any cracking around it or nothing. That boat had several Accon products on it....the smooth rounded Bimini top mounts, which also were very durable.

If you look at it again, that price listed ($17.89) is just for the threaded rod and not the entire assembly. The entire assembly is near $300 on that site. I did find it for about $100 cheaper elsewhere.

I think I will be ordering this assembly and installing myself. What makes me nervous is cutting the fglass on the deck. Measure 100 times, cut once..... fishmanjj
Yep.....it’s a good product that works well. Much better than the straps method. I fished down your way last week....lots of short trout with a few nice keepers up Newell Creek.

Here's a better price and link : Accon Marine LIfting Cleat Complete Kit I would also recommend the backing plate for the top cleat body. Use SS machine screws and nuts (big SS washers...) and thru-bolt the top cleat. Accon Marine 6" Backing Plate -Ham
Dale Nelson
That’s more inline what I thought the price might be. I have a few accon mounts and they seem really good
