FLboy159
I’m gonna install flush mount push pole holders on the gunnels. Does anyone have advise on exact placement of them?

FLboy159
Had a custom bracket made for the hewes. Jason at mangrove fabworks in Naples took care of the project. Power-pole just needs to be wired up.
Lap it Up
That bracket is really neat.
Cdjones328
@FLboy159 did you raise the deck after replacing stringers?
FLboy159
@Cdjones328 Yes I raised the floor. If you look on page 1 you can see how I laid it.
FLboy159
Just repowered the Hewes with a 2019 Suzuki 90hp. New control, tachometer and ignition. Getting poling platform raised and powder coated as we speak.

FLboy159
Poling platform has been raised, a “step” added and powder coated. I’m happy with the completed project. Time to get back on the water! See y’all on the flats.

geeviam
Excellent work, looks great! If I may ask, what make/model prop is that? Suzuki brand? Looks like it's got the "right stuff"

geeviam
She looks great! A true classic! Let us know how she runs with the Zuke after break-in.
FLboy159
@geeviam I have about 5 hours on the motor so far. It is much quieter than my old 2 stroke but it’s also heavier. Has a great hole shot to get up on a plane but I’ve noticed I have to utilize my trim tabs a bit more with passengers on the boat. I haven’t been about 5000rpm nor have had ideal water conditions but have seen her run 30mph.
FLboy159
Btw the first 3 hours of the break in period was horribly slow and boring.
