That crappy looking hole was already there, from the previous owner. I plan to smooth it out and cover it with a clam cover and route the cables through there.

Ok for those that want a 16" display here is the answer.  Modify the console. The grab rail is the standard height for a 22 TE. I prefer to run 2 displays for redundancy.  Rough measurements should allow a NSS7  and  humminbird solix 10 side by side. The NSS7 will be soon and then back to building up the mad money for the Solix 10.

Did you make that yourself?  What's it made of?  I'd like to cram a Furuno TZT16F in mine.  Would need something similar but not as tall

Yes

The overlay fits on the top of the original TE console,

It is made of fiberglass over pvc board on the sides. If you have moderate skills with working fiberglass it is not difficult just takes time and a lot of sanding and fairing.

Since that picture i replaced the white starboard with black acrylic and have a 12 inch lowrance  live and a old 7 inch lss 7 side by side. Plans for this winter are to increase the width to allow me to eliminate the old lss7 and replace with a 10 in humminbird apex so i can have a  HB 360 transducer
