Nolezone
My 98lb black lab is my fishing buddy but she slips all over the cockpit whenever the boat moves. I have purchased 30 - gray 1' X 1' Dri Dek interlocking rubber panels and plan to cover the floor of the cockpit in my Hewes 18' Redfisher. The boat's hull is deep blue and white with a shiny white cap and the panels look great. Anyone tried this before? I can't swing the price of SeaDek right now. People at Dri Dek ($4.25/panel direct from them vs. $6.25/panel at West Marine!) were very helpful with quick 1 day delivery, price and installation advice. Thx in advance for any thoughts
HoneyB
how did they recomend cutting it? I the squares in my front hatch and quickly found out that stuff does not cut as easy as one might think.
triplec
I have never seen that done. Use those inside my hatches. My concern would be air getting under them going down the interstate. There are less expensive alternatives to SeaDek. Can't speak to their quality but here is one example https://www.hydroturf.com/sheets/closeouts and looks to be about same per sq foot as what you are considering. bernieNC
I have all my hatches lined w/ it, good stuff. My only 2 concerns in your case would be 1) will the dogs nails get caught up in it? 2) ease/pain of cleaning the deck under/through it.
fin-addict
like the hydro turf idea. would be concerned about doggy paws with the squares. squares are pia to clean under. had them in hatches and at bridge of large boat. removed quickly from bridge, no advantage at all, jmo
