Would appreciate any pics of a similar stern mount before I drill holes Garmin instructs to mount it level with the flat hull, that will certainly sink it on my RF18 with a 115 4 stroke Yamaha. FLDXT Posted March 21, 2018 Report Share Posted March 21, 2018 My .02, purchase a 3/4" piece of starboard and mount that to your hull. I tried to use old transducer holes because I can't stand drilling holes in my boat. As finicky as these new transducers are it may take a few times to get the location right. If you have to back out screws into your hull you have to continuously reseal those holes. With starboard you can do on the water to adjust as needed and replace the starboard if needed.
