YankeeRedfisher
I'm about to install a new MK Riptide Terrova on my RF18. It has a "heading sensor" puck that is external to the TM. Was wondering if any members have installed one on a similar hull. I'm debating where to install this where it will be out of the way yet communicate correctly with the TM
rubble
You can install in a hatch or the CC. Some of the Prof I stallers make a starboard shelf for it to mount on inside the CC so it is out of the way. I put mine on top of my CC. Had I known it could go inside the CC, that is what I would have done.
JEM
Do a search for ”Minn Kota heading sensor puck” here. There will be some pictures in that thread that might help.

rubble
I dont think it matters where it is mounted on the boat as ling as the heading is dead on with the keel line
RockyG
Mine is still in the box. Haven't found myself missing the jog feature. Maybe I will get around to mounting it one day but so far the Terrova is just fantastic without it.
rckeat
I have to say that the jog feature is pretty sweet. If I want to move 20 feet to the right, just press the jog right button 4 times. It is worth the puck installation for me at least.
triplec
Lil velcro and stuck to dash. Much improves the jog for sure.
johnd
Just installed mine. found a spot where I hope I don't step on and it won't snag a fly line. I wired with a small in-line fuse direct to an extra terminal. I followed the directions exactly. It paired right up with motor. We then put boat in water, followed instructions, did a few quick circles and all set. Ive used this a dozen times now and compared to the non-bluetooth model, it holds the 'spot' a lot tighter. One new thing, you have to remember to turn the TM on - and turn it OFF at end of day. (located behind seat, clear view of sky. Probably 10ft from motor and no issue with pairing.)
