dcathey
I’m looking to get my engine info from my 2011 250 sho. I’m finding 2 different cables. The one from West just has 2 plugs, one Yamaha, one nmea 2k. It’s only $95. The other one that has the Yamaha part number has the same 2 plugs and a small box. I’ve seen it from $250-$350. I already have a nmea backbone, can I use the cheaper cable from West and just tie in from my Yamaha buss bar? The 2 different cables is throwing me off and I’d prefer to get it done my first attempt. Any of you fellas done this on your simrads or other brands? https://www.westmarine.com/buy/simrad--yamaha-engine-interface-cable--11498532 http://www.boats.net/parts/detail/yamaha/outboard/Y-MAR-GTWAY-ML-09.html
jason p
Call BOE Marine and do whatever they say. They're great and will have whatever part you need as well.

captpn
All you need is the Yamaha cable from the outboard to the backbone, and another cable from the backbone to the Simrad. 100 bucks sounds about right. I don't think you need that black box.
