VS-MasterAngler Posted February 22, 2018 Report Share Posted February 22, 2018 Hey Guys, I have the stock Maverick steering wheel that came with my 01 18.5 Master Angler but I'm interested in upgrading to a three spoke with power knob... My question, Is it worth paying the price for an Edson Steering wheel ($450) or will this one be just fine... HoneyB Posted February 22, 2018 Report Share Posted February 22, 2018 Find a boat with an Edson wheel. Spin the power knob. Then do the same with other wheels. It is very evident why there is a cost difference. I paid up for the Edson. Would do it again except this is the third boat I have put it on. mdemott Posted February 23, 2018 Report Share Posted February 23, 2018 Bought mine at a marine surplus store for $149.00 two years ago. Had a Edson knob on a destroyer wheel and changed it to a three spoke. I think the knob made the difference as it has a nice bearing system. Didn't really think the steering wheel made a difference. I'm in the process of having a new home built and it seems like most of you recommend the Edson wheel, so with that being said I may have to just keep the stock wheel for now and get the Edson wheel after we move in.
