tribbsa Posted February 4, 2018 Report Share Posted February 4, 2018 I have 2500 with hardtop on order, and I'm considering installing Simrad 4G radar. Does anyone have this configuration? It appears I need to elevate to get optimal performance and prevent the signal from reflecting off of the hardtop. What size is the hardtop? That will determine how high it has to be mounted. ChrisB Posted February 5, 2018 Report Share Posted February 5, 2018 Couple pics so you can see the pad. The top is molded with a crown or curve in it and works fine with out a riser. If you look at the picture of the radar overlay on the chart you can see it is picking up the channel markers the shore line is defined very well you can even see boat houses on the docks on the upper shoreline and the power lines on Highway 146.
