General disarray
Hey Guys, Need some fiberglass and gel coat work done - I was told to use the Skiff Shop in Edgewater which I believe is owned by Tom Gordon. Does anyone have any experience?

conocean
I've known Tom Gordon for 15 years. Top notch small vessel builder, refitter & fiberglass craftsman.
General disarray
Awesome to hear. We played phone tag on Monday and haven't been able to get ahold of him again. Sounds like I am in the right direction though
conocean
Doubtful that you'll be disappointed. Tell him that Paul @ Merritt's says hello!

brew1891
I purchased my first HB from Tom used when he had Gordon Boatworks. He recently touched up the front hatch interior of my HB Guide before I sold it. Tom has always been a straight shooter and does top notch work! He's also done a few things for a buddy at work on his HB. I've seen the work on that boat and as always impeccable. You'll be happy with his work
nsbpathfinder
Keep us informed once you get in touch with them. I've got a punch list for my 2200V.
General disarray
Awesome! I talked to him yesterday and sent a few photos for a quote and timeline. He’s hard to track down but I’m fine with that if the work is solid. I’m going to follow up towards the end of the day tomorrow to touch base. i just want to get it done before we start getting back into season
General disarray
Well unfortunately after sending photos and info - I have not been able to get ahold of him again. I am assuming he just does want or have time for the job (maybe not big enough) either way its kind of a put off and I am now looking for others. If anyone has any recommendations in the CF area I am all ears.
Compton
I remember similar scenario years ago with Castaway Customs, they have turned their customer service/response time around now. I'd bet the same could be said for the Skiff Shop, probably very busy working through the jobs and the customer service/response/follow through is slipping. I'd be persistent if you really want the boat worked on by them. They have to be busy for a reason. BTW, I cannot speak for their work but have contacted them for a quote which I did receive after about a week of waiting. I am interested to hear your outcome because I was leaning towards using them for a few upgrades I have planned. Keep us posted if you don't mind, even if you don't end up using them! General disarray
Yeah ill try again and I doubt it is anything other than slammed and cant get me in or the job just isn't big enough. I just wish I would be told so I knew one way or the other
triplec
They seem pretty active on social media and have good reputation maybe worth dragging your sled on by so they can look it over. He made the comment on instagram a few times to inquiries about just bringing er by if I remember correct. He has solid rep so lots of pics if you go that route for those of us who may need an option. Best of luck...
