Headhunter
Our fishing club based in central/northeast Florida runs two charity tournaments a year and this fall the recipient is really special. This year we are fishing for Tristan Kaphan who was born this June with a condition called hypo plastic left heart syndrome. Simplified for us fishermen and women, this means the left side of his heart has not developed properly and within 10 days of birth this child has had open heart surgery. Subsequently he will have another surgery at 4 months and another at 3 years of age. These are highly specialized procedures that will require travel to hospitals outside of Florida and bring overwhelming expenses to this young family. Tristan is the son of James and Emily Kaphan. James is a Flagler County Sheriffs Deputy and Emily is studying to be an RN. They also have another son who is 5. While they do have benefits from the Sheriffs department, that will do nothing for the cost of travel, time lost at work , medical bills not covered and oh yea they still have a 5 year old boy to care and provide for too. The tournament is on September 8th and I have attached all of the pertinent information to this post. You can also check our website fcsportfishing.com. As an added incentive I will buy every forum member attending and fishing this event and adult beverage at the event. Thanks in advance for all of your support.
