conocean Posted December 18, 2018 Report Share Posted December 18, 2018 Definitely a great idea to have a pontoon house boat if you camp enough in the Glades. The best thing about it is being able to anchor it in the most isolated areas which expands your fishing range. My friend bought a new 28 foot pontoon with full screen & wraparound eisenglass enclosure a few years ago and we did two trips to New Turkey. I found myself taking the 20min boat ride back to my fish camp in Choko every eve tho. Needless to say, my friend sold the pontoon after his 3rd trip and now has his own fish camp in Choko. It's hard to beat electricity, running water, hot shower, comfy bed & access to plenty of fuel. After 20 years of backcountry camping I am definitely spoiled now...
