Just when they were planning to build a new place to stay!!

Well at least that's one good thing that will come out of this catastrophe.

Yeah, now there's a real reason to rebuild the structures down there. The seawall facing FL Bay is not far from collapsing so I hope they replace that too!

My son & I fished out of Choko this past weekend. CiP docks & ramp are still closed so I launched at OR. There were dozens of down trees to hit from Choko south to Bird key, which was as far south as we ran. Many sand bars are gone or have moved across entire coves. I stood at the helm while running both days. GPS stayed in my tackle bag as usual; its nearly useless. Reading water was a must. My son spotted many down trees & floating debris that I didnt see until we were 100 yds away from them so a 2nd set of eyes proved to be invaluable. We caught a few slams on Saturday (all small fish) but finding fish on Sunday was tough. Tidal flow was funky. Water was either perfect or mucky; no in between. Guides reported same. Glades City & Choko are still very much in recovery mode. Island Cafe has finally reopened. No gas on Choko yet & ice is still a commodity.

Logged 80 miles @ Mingo last Friday and all I can say is wow !

Scouting out new places for the mothership .

Keep your head on a swivel , bring your A game , file an accurate float plan .

You will be on your own .

The water had to be atleast 10’ deep , in the campground .

Seaweed all up in the trees .

Now I know where all the water went that was in FL Bay .

That place was beat down before .

Now it’s back to the stoneages .

On a posative ... Should be plenty of new timber snags to fish .

Good Luck 🇺🇸☠️

Don't stare at your GPS screen for more than a second or two and bring another set of eyes with you! There's plenty of fish if you find good water.

I was able to finally speak to someone today @ ENP .

The campground , which would usually open mid November , may be delayed .

We were told , all of the cheekies , recieved damage .

Some more than others .

Alot of them have been undercut , below the water line .

No self registration , no permits , or overnight parking at the ramp .

Just on a daily basis for now .
