Retired USN War-rant Posted July 31, 2017 Report Share Posted July 31, 2017 I am new here and a new boat owner, 30 years in the Navy and I have always said I would never own a water craft unless it is me powered. I have a touring kayak. So I bite the bullet bought a 1997 Cobia Bowrider with a 5.7GL Volvo Penta I/O with a SX-C1 Stern drive. The registration says its a 218 Open. Maverick Boating said they did not have a brochure or info on a 218 open. The HIN# is CBAJD166I697, so I know it was built in 97. I am looking for info on the model and anything else some one can provide. The second owner was a mechanic who put in a rebuild engine. The boat has been well taken care of and the interior is in great shape, gages are all clean and working other than the trim indicator.
