If you have access to 93, it might be worth running tank down and then fill w 93. Jp I'm looking at the owners manual for the F300CA right now and it states "Min pump octane number (PON) 89." I see nothing that would lead me to believe the motor would perform substantially better by going to 93 octane. If that were the case then I'd run 93 in my little Honda car so I could actually have some acceleration.
Dawgfan
I can assure you that higher octane in a stock Yamaha motor is not the answer to increasing or decreasing RPM's. Here's a little reading material that explains what higher octane is all about...... http://www.fuelexpert.co.za/whatisoctane.php

Jp Try putting your prop on his boat and see if he gets the numbers your seeing....or vice versa, put his on your boat....that will answer a lot of questions. Dcabot65
Dealer tried 93 didn't make a difference nor should it as per Yamaha support. Prop adjustment made a world of difference, took her for a short run yesterday saw 57-58 and 56.5 mph. A little tweaking and I may squeeze another mph out on a real flat day.
