Stauter
Bought this boat in Daytona, boat has been reworked and hull is in great shape. Lovin' the Mahogany cap and cockpit floor.
Chief5130
Wow, very sharp! If that does not get comments at the ramp, you need to check for a pulse!!
oldsalt
Beautiful! How's the mahogany for slickness? Was the mahaogany original to the boat or an addition you or PO did to it? Looks grat and probably easier to maintain.

Stauter
Finally got around to installing the seadek. Decided to go with Camel over Mocha. Tyler at Castaway Customs did a great job with the template and the install was super easy, just peel and stick. Redfish and Speck on poling platform, Tarpon and Logo on casting platform. Ruler on forward deck comes in handy. Biggest surprise was how much quieter the boat is. Gonna do the floor in the faux teak and holly next. oldsalt
Sea deck looks great with the wood. I'll bet it is not only quiter, but cooler. By 9:00 am it felt like 100 in the sun today on my boat.
squidmotion
Stauter... how's the maintenance on that wood? definitely an interesting look.
Stauter
Not bad at all. I just put 2 fresh coats of Epifanes on the top cap. I use Watco teak oil on the floor. I like the seadek so much I am going to do the floor this winter in the faux teak.

Waz-in-Oz
Awesome Stauter, I am in the process of building a new conference room off our office and the boardroom tables I ordered are very similar to your timber finish gunnels. Now everytime I look at them I think about your boat and know where I would rather be.
regdor
Gonna do the floor in the faux teak and holly next. Why would you mess with perfection? I have a new 2400 TRS and I am now jealous!!! Enjoy that boat.
SWFLGatorbait
Awesome looking cap. Sweet idea. How does the boat run with the 135? I was looking at that same motor for our 74 Lappy.
rms007
I am curious about that engine and performance too. Just bought a boat recently with a blown evinrude ficht v6, that had just recently died(last year). Previous owner said the engine lasted 9 yrs and was supposedly a great engine while it ran. I just know that they don't have much retail or resale value because of their problematic history. However, was still pondering a rebuild(about 3K) as a opposed to new engine and rigging $$$$. Stauter
Wasn't my first choice in motors but have to say I have been impressed. Tops out at 50.4 mph (GPS). Running a power tech ptc4 18 pitch. Had it drilled for the mercury vent plugs. Run 2 large & 2 med. plugs. Motor is raised to the bottom mounting hole. Excellent hole shot. Can maintain plane at 12mph. Cruises with 2 people and gear at 28 mph turning 3000 rpm. One note motor is sensitive to carbon build up. Run xd100 oil or use a carbon cleaner. I prefer quicksilver quickleen
SWFLGatorbait
Thats what I have read as well. Still shopping around for different options. As of now I leaning to a 150 Optimax over propped but not sure yet. I havent seen anyone run a 150 yet and I'm curious why. Once again, that boat is sweet! John1909
? The gunnel picture looks like its all one piece or was this an excellent installation ? How much weight do you think this added to the boat ? Thanks I'd
Stauter
If you are referring to the sea deck, it's 3 separate pieces. Weight is nothing. If you mean the wood, I would guess maybe 35lbs. And each piece is a single board running its length.
oldsalt
Sauter. I think he is refering to the wood laminate on the gunnel. It appears from the picture to be one piece from the bow curve to the stern.
Stauter
Yes its one piece from the stern to midway up the forward casting deck. you can see the caulk line in the pic showing the sea deck on the forward area of the boat.
80 bonefisher
what kind of steering cylinder did you you use, baystar or seastar, and do you have trouble trimming your motor all the way up with the cylinder there.
