We had a blast - ran 200 miles in two days on 33 galons (6 mpg average). We weren't sure if when you got to the last bar, how much was left. Thanks Skip for telling us that it blinks when you hit reserves. That would have saved Captain ADD here from running back from Flamingo at 4000 rpm with eyes glued to the fuel gauge.

A special thanks to Charlie for making Noel feel welcome. That Pink Maverick Visor stayed on all weekend!

Had a great day on Saturday, even jumping a few baby tarpon. Sunday was frustrating as hell, but Noel stuck it out and spotted most of the fish we saw before me.

Here are a few pics. Sorry for the cruddy quality, we only brought the Iphone.

My first red of Friday - stole a Twitch-n-Rap from the Tarpon.

Noel's 5th red of Friday. When we finally found them, it was pandemonium for 10 minutes. Notice her pink rod in the background.

I took this with my iPhone at breakfast on Friday. It's pretty grainy, but there's nothing like looking over a basin full of MBC boats to a calm Atlantic side at sunrise - what a promising morning!

The next one is for those who didn't make the OT. It's from Friday afternoon up in Flamingo. Never seen it this nice. But for a few clouds and keys, you could never identify the horizon.

The top of the dorsal fin in this picture belongs to Mr. Tarpon, in the Poll/Troll Zone around Porpoise Point. He gave us a p*** or two but had no interest in eating Frank's soft plastic.

The reds were a lot less fussy, and the slick surface made it easy to find 'em. This was one of several that chased the pink and white B*** ******in Sea Shad.

We were joined Friday by family friend Captain Benny Blanco, who took a busman's holiday to show us an eastern route up to Flamingo from Breezy (which we shared with fishing buddies Gary and Brad from Salt Aire Saturday on the way home), and to do something he loves to do but gets little opportunity for, putting his own smackdown on the fish.

Finally, from Saturday, new friends Rainer and his wife Noel, the reigning 2011 champion woman angler, against that backdrop of a gaggle of good looking boats! Marc Woods' gorgeous DV, voted best looking boat, is on the right, and our little HPX-V is back in the far right corner.

This was our third OT (2004, 2007), and we not only made reservations for next year, we're in negotiations to bring brother Frank's family and my wife down, too.

It was great seeing old friends, and making new ones - thanks to MBC for another great OT!

As I said in my earlier post, I had a great time fishing with Hon as well as Mark Krowka. I got to fish some areas I hadn't fished in years as well as some I hadn't fished at all. My card was full on the big camera, but here are some shots I took with my point and shoot. Hon has the "good stuff". This is my son Clay catching his first red on fly. Hon put us on them and I was wise enough to sit down, shut up, and let Hon give some quick casting pointers. Not the biggest but the first for him which made him happy. We ran all over and poled really shallow. Pretty amazing what that 18 will do.Thanks for great day on the water, Hon !

We really enjoyed our first Florida OT. Looking forward to next year but hope we don't have to wait that long to catch up with the South Florida folks.

And thanks again for the folks letting us horn in on the snapper spot Saturday afternoon - the bait and chum were much appreciated - you guys rock!

A few shots from our weekend:
