So, Capt DonH and I got the MA17 rigged and ready to go....and off we went to Choko today.

The tide was very strange as it was a slow outgoing and hard to find fish...

We did begin the day with 10 doz shrimp from the bait babe at EC bait and tackle...some great shrimp from Alina and her hubby...

We decided to fish outside as the weather was beautiful and the gulf was flat and calm.

We ran to our spot South of the Chatham on the outside and lined up on a shoreline....

4-5th cast on the bank and I found a nice red for the box...We then struggled for the rest of the day and came off the water by 2pm.

The purpose of the trip was really about running the MA17 and she performed well....

WOT 40.8 MPH at 4600 rpm; however, hole shot is terrible with the 3 blade...cruise was 29-31 mph @ 38K rpms...

Overall handling great; ride fantastic and the boat is very easy to fish.

I need to get the prop dialed in, get some new tires, and she'll be running great.....

Powerpoles worked fantastic....

Here's a pic of the first Red...overall day between DonH and me: 6 Reds (one slot), 5 trout, jacks, cats, a small flounder, and a giant brown RAY that was fun for about 10 min...

Until the next time....
