80 bonefisher
We tried to get the spec's and history on this boat when we first strated this project but they told us there records didn't go back that far. They said it was before the took the company over.

WestFoto
I have a 1981 Hewes Bonefisher and I think is rated for a 115 HP. I have a 90carb on it and it does well but it would be nice to have a 115HP.

Reel Loco
We have a opportunity for an 2012 Etec 150. Just want to make sure it won't be to much. By too much, do you mean weight/speed or over HP rating? I found this in the Federal Code of Regulations: http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/CFR-2003-title33-vol2/xml/CFR-2003-title33-vol2-sec183-53.xml According to the formula I believe your boat would meet the requirements for 150HP. Don't take this as gospel but it might be a place to start. Maybe someone with more concrete boating knowledge than myself will chime in. 80 bonefisher
We finished rigging the bilge today along with trim tabs, battery's and battery switches. Will put in the Stereo,Amp and the (4) JL's tomorrow. We routed all the hinges on the hatches so they sit flush with the deck. Getting closer! Blue_Heron
Beautiful work. That's going to be a gorgeous boat when you get her completed. I'm getting ready to start a rebuild on a '72 Lappy, and I'll be referring back to your thread for some guidance. Thanks for posting all your pics. ...We routed all the hinges on the hatches so they sit flush with the deck... Those hinges are also available with the knuckles underneath instead of on top. The only down side is that you have to mortice in a 1/4 round groove on the hatch and the deck for it to sit flush. I used them on some of the hatches on my Seacraft, but I didn't mortice the hinge leaves, just the knuckles. They're pretty low profile, though, so they worked out well. 80 bonefisher
Installed the Fusion AM/FM/CD stereo with Ipod dock and 400 watt JL amp with (4) 7.5" JL speakers today. This thing sounds better than my house stereo! All I need is a Motor now. Still backordered from the factory. They said at least 2 more weeks. Getting impatient now. 80 bonefisher
We got a call from the dealer today and the new motor is in. We get free controls,Icon gauge, wiring harness and stainless prop of our choice. We were thinking a 3 blade viper or the 4 blade cyclone. What prop do you guys think would be best? Engine is the new 135HO.
oldsalt
Depends if your looking for stern lift or speed. If you are going to be poling around shallow flats and wanting to jump on plane, I would think the four blade.
FlatOn
My vote... 4 Blade
