palmetto1
Generally speaking what is happening there Jan-April. Generally interested in Tarpon and Snook. If those peak at another time, be curious about that too.
conocean
Lots of trout, drum and snapper Jan-April but snook and tarpon action is hottest in the ENP May-Nov.
jason p
There's fish almost year-around, depending on water temps they're a little on-off thru Dec-March. The best time for snook and tarpon (sight fishing anyways, nor sure your what your deal is) is the worst time for humans... Hot, full sun, no clouds, no wind. palmetto1
Yes sight fishing would be on top of the list. For some reason I was thinking the tarpon were there before they migrated around the keys but sounds like its summer that is best huh? Snook stay there just susceptible to water temps? rubble
I fished with a tarpon guide out of Choko in 2012 when Jose crashed his plane. April to be exact. News broke during the Men's Basketball Nat Championship game (UK Won!!!). We fished along side those guys That day and had lunch on the water with them. He was filming with Jeff Legutki. The 3 guides that were there said that the Tarpon were resident in Choko but they do get some migrators in the area. The bight was slow but I'm not kidding, we could have walked across that flat on their backs. Never seen so many fish stacked up like that and Tarpon at that. They weren't moving. Just sunning in the skinny, I guess.

March and april have been my favorite times for the reds.....gotta pick your days from the wind sometimes....but, once the cold water ends they seem to be a chomp'n. dc
