rubble
For my previous 24v TM I had a 50amp breaker and a backup 50amp breaker. With the new Ulterra 36v TM, the owners manual calls for a 60amp so I went to the local Minn Kota dealer and he said I should be fine with the 50amp. He also said that they use button resets that are much cheaper than the big breakers because they are only $9.00 as opposed to $39.00. That had me wondering if his suggestion of using the 50amp was bad advice. Should I go ahead and get the 60amp installed and throw the 50amp in my spare parts box or is he correct and I'll be okay with a 50amp all the time? FunFlatsFishing
Try it out and if it pops, upgrade to the 60 amp. When I upgraded my trolling motor I had to upgrade mine.
smilemaker
As a rule of thumb the higher the voltage the lower the amp for the same load. 36 v motor has more load on it but I doubt enough to blow 50 amp As said use50 and only go to 60 if needed. Quality of breaker is too important to skimp on. Forget saving a few dollars and risk a fire
