Chuck59 Posted September 28, 2016 Report Share Posted September 28, 2016 I have a 2003 Hewes Redfisher 16. Noticed that some of the newer Maverick's have a sissy bar mounted on the poling platform. Given the configuration of the platform on my Hewes, I'm not sure that the mounting poles could work given the lip of my platform. I was wondering if anyone has mounted a bar on their Hewes and had any suggestions or photographs that they want to share. At my age, I need the security of the bar. Bonecracker Posted September 28, 2016 Report Share Posted September 28, 2016 I do not know if this is what you are talking about, but I have this removable bar on my poling platform that just plugs into two welded rod holders. I get up there all the time with my stripping bucket and fly rod while staked out tarpon fishing. I remove the bar when poling the boat for any other species as it gets in the way! polliwog Posted September 29, 2016 Report Share Posted September 29, 2016 I have one on my maverick ,same program, welded holders ,removable hoop bar. Great for those of us over 70. LOL. I don't get up anymore without it. I will say it does interfere with poling somewhat. I like the picture showing T-style which would interfere less I think.
