G8R Posted June 2, 2010 Report Share Posted June 2, 2010 hey dbl, thanks for the wake-ups. been a little quiet around this thread lately. that should change this summer though. how's the jig making going?? huntfish, seaweed, dixie flyer and i were all over playing at the mingo this past saturday. water was way clear and as clear as you will ever see it there (good and bad), especially where we were fishing up around the bend. just to let you know, the cob's are back in attendance after taking this winter off, albeit on the smaller side relative to last year. caught five, saw more. everything else was also in attendance in large numbers, and hungry, such that the 3 boats combined went through about 40 of the double secret jigs that day, and not on the bottom. so many fish they were tearing them up. any luck replicating yet?? hopefully september will be kind to us this year - everybody looking forward already. keep up the wake-ups. later for now. l'wood Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I have been hitting the offshore stuff lately (Dolphin and Kings mostly), also traveling way too much... I'm looking forward to trying some spots down there in September... I have a dozen jigs (or maybe more by then) made up for you... I can send them or bring them in Sept. They look very close and fish nicely. I have been using the same pattern in a 1 oz. size and the Snapper love them. I am heading to Wachapreague VA. in a few weeks for a family reunion/Flounder trip and plan to test them there as well... We are doing it much the same way as last year with breakfast available for those who purchase tickets. This year it will include eggs and bacon along with bagels, cereal, juice, fruit and cereal. Other meals will be self-provided. Red Zone Apparel, makers of our skiffworld tech -t's, will be building our shirts on their long sleeve Tech - T's. They are great shirts and will be a big upgrade. Now that I have utterly confused myself... Anyone know how many slips/rooms there are at La Siesta? I don't know the number but I launch there often and I don't imagine its many... Any other hotel/marina's nearby? We usually have a run over to Flamingo from Islamorada and in fact there are groups that leave at different times. Some cross over starting in the dark, others wait for a bit.
