flyreds
Her Mark - Awesome looking flies. Do you mind sharing a little more on how you tie in the fox fur? Do you just tie in clumps and them trim down, almost as in spinning deer hair? I have some fox fur strips and wanted to make sure I use them the right way. The Limey
Andy, you put it on the shank, do a couple of loose wraps, then splay it round the shank, pull down tight, then the next bit etc. You do use a lot of fox on this, and you waste a fair bit trimming it off. The Limey
SG , I just tied that fox fur one for fun really , I dont think you can beat Borski's Laid up tarpon fly for that, yellow bar died bunny , ginger schlappen collar and golden yellow seal-ex dubbing brushed out for the head, on a 2/0 mosquito hook. oldsalt
More like Palmering it around the hook, like a hackle.
The Limey
How can you palmer arctic fox, thats been cut off the skin ? Unless you use a split thread/wax technique. I think your getting confused with the out of sinc photo skiffguide put up.
oldsalt
You are correct. I was looking at the wrong fly. Sorry, if I confused anyone.
Fuzzyfishin
Try dubbing it brush style..much easier, looks great, saves on material usage!
