linesider 159 Posted July 2, 2016 Report Share Posted July 2, 2016 Was originally going scalloping today but had 2 people back out so decided to fish inshore for a few hours this morning. We pulled up on a school of reds pretty quick and caught some nice ones, as well as left some for tomorrow. Decided to check one spot and sure enough the tarpon were rolling. We went 0 for 2 on artificial but my father was able to hook his first tarpon ever. We managed to bring home some redfish filets and be off the water around 10 before the heat really kicked in. I barely managed to grab the camera and snap this awesome shot! He doesn't get to fish much anymore since he is working or doing stuff around the house, so it was great to see him enjoy it. linesider 159 Posted July 4, 2016 Author Report Share Posted July 4, 2016 Got them today with my parents! They were balled up feeding and even jumping. First cast with a gulp jerkbait and hooked up. Also caught 4 reds or so. Cut ladyfish are working very well right now. This is my first tarpon ive ever landed, feels good to break the curse.
