hurricane
My thought is, they're both to small. At minimum 130 is what I would like to see. That said, do the swap. Sell the 90 and get a used Yamaha 150.
Lap it Up
Does your Yamaha inshore have the factory low water pickup and 17 1/2" mid section? If so I'd be interested in the motor if you were to sell it.
Mardi-Gras
beat me to it...also looking for "inshore 115" with low water pickup...
SaltySouth
I too was very interested in repowering an 18 Lappy with an F90. I reached out to a few guy with that setup and the feedback was good! If you want to run 50mph, it would not be good. But if you were more interested in fishing with a quiet motor and turning gas $$ into beer $$ than heck yea.
Gotcha Covered
Not sure about this how can I identify if the motor has a factory low water pickup?
Lap it Up
Water pump pickups are low in the nose cone opposed to being higher underneath the cavitation plate. Also the cavitation plate is larger than normal and the mid section is shorter than a regular 20" V4 Yamaha.
fishtaco
I don't care if it's low water pick up or not, I'd be interested in it if you're selling. Want to swap out my Yammie 90 for a few more ponies.
