Steve S.
I'm looking for some help; can anyone give me prop advise for my 24TE? I currently have a 23 pitch Power Tec, 3-blade prop and I am not at all happy with my hole shot especially with my live well filled. Please tell me what 4-Blade prop you use and if possible give me your numbers, I.e. Top speed and rpm's? I have a F250 4-stroke Yamaha.
linesider 159
23 pitch is way too big, that's most likely why your holeshot is poor. What are your rpms at wot? Speed at wot?
Steve S.
RPM's 5800-5900 and top speed 48 or 49 mph
mikeym
23 pitch is way too big, that's most likely why your holeshot is poor. What are your rpms at wot? Speed at wot? the F250 has a 2.00:1 gear ratio, a 23p 3blade is normal- his slip is just through the roof. i found the rev4 to be my favorite prop on that hull. hooks good and will run elevated. it sounds like you may be running with a load more often than not, id probably try a 21p. it should get you the hole shot you want and get you into the low-mid 50s on the rev limiter if it bites. Steve S.
I have an F250 4-stroke, thanks very much for the help do you think a 19 pitch 4-blade would be good or a 21p.
Fish Food
Check out these, if you haven't already to give you some useful information... http://yamahaoutboards.com/sites/default/files/bulletins/bulletin_4stroke_hpv6_sws_pat-2400te-f250btxr.pdf http://yamahaoutboards.com/sites/default/files/bulletins/bulletin_4stroke_hpv6_vmax_pat-2400te-f250txr_1.pdf They are 2 different Yamaha performance bulletins with your boat and motor(I believe). You can look up those specific props and compare them to yours. May be similar but just a 4 blade versus the three blade. I have found very similar results on my boat based on the performance bulletins. I hope that it helps. Good luck.
CG RYAN
Any updates on this setup? I have the same boat and am just starting to play with props. I'm not looking to go crazy, just curious. I haven't called Marcus yet but I will.
