Recommended Posts

'05 21'MA. Pretty sure water is coming in through gas cap. Gaskets/spring failing... I have not removed it yet. Anyone know which cap ***embly to order?

Many thanks,

Call MBC and they'll be able to straighten you out with a part number. Before you remove it make sure there is an o-ring on the screw cap, if not that's probably your problem.

If it's a Perko deck plate they're readily available and fairly simple to replace. After you remove the screws loop some PowerPro under the flange and pull both ends in opposite directions to cut the sealant and it should pop out.

This is a good thing to think about checking, its something that just never crossed my mind. I haven't had any water in my fuel but next time I gas up, I will inspect the o-ring.

I hope the o-ring is the cause for you BTP21.
