moose
Morning all, I looked through previous posts and didn't see this topic in the archives, so I appologize if this post has been answered before. My digital gauges have progressively gotten dimmer over the past year and are currently unreadable. I have added a new battery, changed all connections to the battery, adjusted the backlight to the gauges, checked all connections, all of these provided no resolution to the problem. My last question is... Do digital gauges fail over time, is there a specific life expectancy to them? They a 2004 round. Any other thoughts as to a fix are most appreciated. Geaux Time
I was just looking up the same issue on the net. Glad you posted. I have a 2000 Bayfisher with the same problem. Not a cheap fix if we have to replace those gauges. Looks like about $250 each
Shallowminded6
Look on THT. They have a refinishing post for the gauges. Seems like a bit of a process to refinish, but it's better then spending $250-$300 a pop on gauges. I would've done it if I had seen it before buying new gauges for my boat. Geaux Time
Moose, wasn't sure how to PM on here. If you do the replacement let me know. I'm just down the road from you in Indialantic. Doesn't seem to be too difficult to replace but I want to know what I'm getting into before I tackle it myself. Scott Sjnewman18@yahoo.com
polliwog
Digital gauges do get dimmer over time,I replaced my speedo gauge on my 1997 Hewes Yamaha 150. Go on line and maybe you will be lucky to find some that are cheaper. The actual change over is pretty simple, unplug and follow the wire codes to re attach wires. Shallowminded6
Check that link out. Just replaced both of mine before i saw this. As polliwog said. Not very difficult to do at all. Just a few plugs and the proper code and you are on your way.

Nauti
Tagged that thread. I ***ume it would be the same for the square gauges? Anyone on here try this yet?
Shallowminded6
I never got to try it. Found it after I bought and installed new gauges. It shows the before and after on the thread tho. Looks like it works pretty good
