I have but they are heavier than Mercs. I'm worried that the fin that comes on the back of the upper cowling will hit my polling platform. In addition to I already have hydraulic steering, cables and prop for a merc on my boat.

The zukes are about $800 cheaper and not sure which is a better motor.

The Honda 115 engine is around 475lbs according to Honda's website. Seems heavy for a 115. Yamaha 115s are around 370lbs. Not sure what the Suzukis weigh. I think for that much weight, I would go with the a Yamaha 115 (370lbs). The Yam 150 is 425lbs. Or, stick with the Mercs, every Merc I've ever had was excellent, and would have far less re-rigging expenses..

I had a 115 Honda on another boat (like the engine, however salt water created rust on exterior parts). It was too heavy for my RF18

I went with new Zuke, the 140. Think about 405lbs. Replaced older 115 Yammy v that weighed 355 lbs. The extra 50lbs does make boat a bit squatty.

RF sensitive to extra weight hanging off the back.

and in the for what it worth, the Honda was great technology... but no technology upgrades (that I'm aware of). If you can afford I would look at newer models of Yammy, Merc, Etec or Zuke.

I ended up with a 20" 115 four stroke standard motor. The command thrust was suggested but I couldn't understand how a larger gear case and bigger prop would make my boat run any better. I've always moved my engines as high as I can run them and maintain water pressure. I have nice powertech 4 blade sternlifting prop that hooks up very well.

I've been reading to much advertising about new mercs but am excited to see if the extra 25% more torque over my old motor will be as good as I expect.

Got my new engine mounted and went for a test ride last sunday. Got 43 mph with a full tank and three adult anglers. Was hoping for a little bit more but i'll let the motor break in first and play with prop and engine heights. That is almost identical to the speed I got with the old engine but way quieter and smoother. My fishing partner squeezed in a redfish on our maiden voyage.

Stuck at 43 mph with my powertech SCD 17" four blade. Holeshot is great but I can bounce of the rev limiter at WOT. The prop is grabbing good and my slip numbers at WOT are between 7 and 8 %. Think I could use a 19" but that will have to wait for a little while. Posted a couple pics. The motor just barely clears my poling platform and a couple of shots with the new LEDs.
