BowMovements
I'm about to buy a trolling motor for my 96 rf 19. I'm thinking of going with the 24v 80# xi5 gps model. I was thinking of getting the 54" for the possibility of mounting on a bay boat in the future. Anyone have a recommendation on shaft length for this boat? linesider 159
Get the 60 inch, bigger is better in your case
Limitless
Just went out and measured mine on the Redfisher. I have the MK Ipilot 80# - the shaft length is 54" and the overall length is 60" from the top of the head to the bottom of the motor. Plenty of length for the RF and I also use it on my 20 bay boat. hurricane
Motorguide might make the decision for you. If you want Xi5 with GPS, they don't sell it with 80lbs, and 54" as a package. They only sell it as a package in 60" or 48". You can buy 54" without GPS and buy the GPS unit separate to add, but the cost is more. This is how I ended up with 60" on my boat, and I like the length.
Brent B
get the longest shaft you can. I rebuilt my minnkota and installed the longest shaft they sold me. If you go to short you will regret it.
BowMovements
Thanks guys! I'm going to go with the 60" to get maximum use with the bay boat. Anyone have any luck with the Xi5?
