Repower Pathfinder 2200V-TE

Recommended Posts

I am considering repowering my 2004 Pathfinder that currently has a 200HP HPDI on her. I have seen a few older Pathfinders with the Yamaha 250HP SHO and that is probably what I will go with but am curious if anyone has put an E-TEC 200HP on one, and if so, how is the performance?

There is an older 2200v in Brunswick with a new ETec 250 on it that flys. He has passed me several times out front and he’s definitely running high 50’s if not 60 mph. I’m running about 43 mph and he comes passed me like I’m on anchor.

I haven’t seen that one yet JJ. I’ll keep my eyes peeled

I have heard he keeps it up in Hampton River area... probably Buck’s outboard installed the E Tec because he’s an Evinrude dealer.

Another to consider:

Mercury V6 225 4 stroke

dry weight *Lightest model available

Mine came in today after 10 months of waiting. Hoping to have it on the boat in the next week or so.  I'll report back with a thread. boat is getting a bunch of other goodies too.

I have a 250etec on a 2000 2200v. Pm me if you have questions or want to chat about it. I’ll be glad to share my thoughts.

I’ll bet it will fly with the 250....mid 60’s ??

Yeah, it’s pretty quick.  It has a 4 blade prop so it’s top speed is low 60’s with full fuel tank and crew. But it gets to 60 REALLY quickly. I’m more concerned about getting on plane quickly. With the trim tabs, I really never need a jackplate.
The setup works well for me.

Thanks for all the input guys. My main concern is keeping the weight down and of course, cost. I am leaning toward the Yamaha 250 SHO but will consider E-Tec 200, Mercury 225 and Suzuki.
