Donh
First rainbow trout on fly. Landed a bunch plus some brook trout. Sure is different than saltwater long rod. 2 pound test and 4 wt. Little Red River near Heber Springs, AR. Guide Greg even provided a shore lunch of hot dogs, brots and delicious chili. Florida guides take note. Wanaflatsfish
Yes cold. Must admit I was wearing thermals for the first time also. dh Don, you look 30 lbs heavier in all that gear ! I think we use those size here for sailfish "bait" Glad you had a great time....nothing like a rainbow trout hitting a fly you can't even see dc
Donh
Used a midge. About the size of a Flamingo mosquito. dh
johnd
Beautiful location. Used to joke some of the brookies I caught were smaller than mullet I use to live bait here Thermals: yes. When you start the day breaking ice (which I thought was only to put in drinks) off the truck...and slip & fall & water gets in your waders and it's really cold! Way different than salt water flats or offshore, but it's fishing and it's fun. Enjoy!
Donh
Yes the brookies were small, the rocks slippery and the water was cold. Too bad so far away. Would love to do it again. dh
MA18Colorado
Don, if you make it out to Colorado, I will take you out to fish some great water around Colorado Springs. You would love it. Little Red is a great river.
