  2. Hydro Tec Marine Performance???

Hey Guys, Has anyone ever heard of or put a Hydro Tec Marine- Phase I Kit on their Yamaha motor? I Stumbled stumbled upon a post on Facebook and the guy was talking about having put one on his Yammi 150 vmax OX66 and his numbers seemed really good! Any info would be appreciated, about reliability, performance, fuel economy, etc... I'm not worried about voiding a motor warranty as my motor is an 01 Yamaha Vmax OX66 with 70 hours. The Kit on Hydro Tec's website is $1,236 and then I'm sure there would be a decent amount of labor to have it installed. If this kit isn't worth it is there anything that can be done to an older carb 2 stroke, to up performance?? Thanks, Vinnie
  3. My "new" MA18.5!

I finally had enough time to take the new boat out! Played some hockey in the morning (to burn off all that Turkey) then my gf and I took the boat out for a while... Forgot the cast net at the house smh so I just threw some plugs and managed a few small snook and lost a big dog snook that shook the hook boatside all and all a great time and she ran flawlessly, looking forward to more great days to come!

Hey guys, Do you recommend putting a jackplate on a 2001 18.5MA with a 150 yamaha ox66? Cost is $1400 installed so I'm just wondering if it is worth the cost or if this boat even needs it.

  9. First time on the water

After a few days of touching up minor cosmetic blemishes and installing latches, etc. the 1989 has hit the water for the first time since being picked up two weeks ago. Lanier was crazy packed today and there were lots of big wakes but the Maverick handled it all well.
  10. My First Maverick 1989

Picked up this 1989 18' Master Angler last week. Boat is in very good condition except for a few very minor cosmetic blemishes here and there that should be easy to fix. Excited to start working on it soon and give updates or ask for advice on this forum.
  11. I have a 2006 Maverick that i have been refinishing for the past 6 months. It's been a very long process and I'm now ready for Primer and Paint, which is not something I have experience with. I want to the store and bought all of the paint, 1 gallon of Quantum with all of the reducer / converter but I'm not sure what I need to do to be ready to spray. I have listed some of the things that I already have but after spraying some primer I feel like I'm over my head. Can anyone give me some advice as this is completely new to me? Also, I'm willing to pay if anyone knows a place that can spray the boat for me. Ballard Taleck - 239-537-3455

  14. So I have found another boat I am interested in and figured I'd list my boat here before craigslist or any other for sale sites. It's a 1998 Maverick Master Angler 18' 5" with a Yamaha 175 VMAX and a 2017 Fast load aluminum trailer. This is one of the cleanest MA's you will find especially for the year. I looked at several MA's before purchasing this one. The boat and motor have an original 176 hours. I have recently wrapped the boat black but I have some photos of it before the wrap which is a cabernet color. I had it wet sanded and buffed before the wrap and the gel coat is in good condition. I am the third owner of the boat, the first of which was an older man who was a snow bird so the boat was rarely used. I have gone through this boat and added over $13k worth of upgrades all within the last year which are listed below. Boat: 1998 Maverick Master Angler 18'5" Black 3m wrap professionally done by Sign Zoo New Steering wheel (still have the original) Wrapped wheel and grab rails New SeaStar Tilt helm and hydraulic lines Lowrance HDS9 Gen 3 with sonic hub New troling motor batteries (Feb. of 2017) Seadek under gunnels with Maverick logo Re-Wire (Everything from the console back including the fuse panel) New Lenco trim tab actuators New pumps ( Rule auto bilge, livewell and recirc) Atlas 4" Jack plate Powder coated black Dual Power-Pole Blade 8's with brackets New Yamaha 704 remote control binnacle Minn Kota 70lb 24V trolling motor (was on the boat when I bought it and is GREAT shape) Motor: Yamaha 175 Vmax 176 hours New plugs and lower unit oil changed about 5 hours ago 3 blade 19 pitch Yamaha prop It could use a new prop, the boat has amazing hole shot but suffers a little bit on the top end. 50mph with two people and gear and about 52 or 53 mph lighter load. Trailer: 2017 Fast load aluminum trailer with torsion axle Less than 100 miles on the trailer Saltwater package with all Stainless hardware Aluminum black wheels with spare drop leg jack $21,500 obo No low ballers please. You can add up all of the upgrades and see the value. You can't buy a MA 185 and add everything for near this price

  18. -48 original hours -90 Yamaha 2-stroke(perfect match) -trim tabs -6ft power pole -garmin ff/gps... -hydraulic steering with tilt helm -clean professional wiring -mint condition -cushions in great shape -everything works. The previous owner used the boat very little and kept it in the garage. Routine service and maintenance was performed. This boat only has 48 hours of total run time. Everything is 100% ready to go. The motor is the last year Yamaha made a 90 hp two-stroke and it is perfect for this boat. The weight-to-power ratio is ideal for this light flats boat. I will take other boats on trade. This is a unique opportunity to own a Hewes Redfisher that has very low hours. 48 Hours of total run time is what separates this boat from others on the market. The 90 hp 2-stroke Yamaha balances this boat properly. Clear title ready to transfer $19,995 St. Petersburg, FL. 727-244-4262 Price does not include trailer. I will deliver within a reasonable distance. For $1350 i will have a new trailer purchased and matched for this boat.

  25. 21 Master Angler

This is a one of a kind Maverick Master Angler. I will let the pictures do the talking on this post. Let me start off by giving everyone a little background on this boat. Shortly after buying my first MBC product 10 years ago I fell in love with the MA 21. I have owned 6 MBC boats (3 Pathfinders, 2 Hewes, and this MA). This has, by far, been my favorite and there is no doubt in my mind why this hull is so popular amongst the MBC community. I purchased this boat about 2 years ago and took it directly to the rebuild shop. All of the work was performed by one of the country's premier yacht builders. They have asked that I not share their name because this was a one-off deal and they will never refit a boat of this size again. If someone is a serious buyer I will then share that information. The vessel spent more than a year in the shop undergoing this refit. As you can tell from the pictures this boat looks brand new. There was no expense spared to make this boat the way I wanted it. The hull is a 1999 but now shines better than it did new. The motor is a 2006 Yamaha 225 and has about 650 hours on it. Everything was replaced on this boat at the time of refit. The factory polling platform was redesigned and totally replaced by my friends at Quality T Tops in Tarpon Springs, Florida. The boat was completely re-wired and is truly bullet proof now. As the pictures show the refit shop customized the console to allow a flush mounted GPS that also doubles as the gauges. After enjoying this boat for the last 8 months it is now time to move on to my next project. My family has outgrown bay boats and we are moving up to a 36 foot center console (Jupiter). This could quite possibly be the biggest mistake of my life but as you all know we all have a boat that we sell and then regret for the rest of our natural existence; this will be mine. I labored over every single detail of this boat, I have spent more money on this vessel than I will ever admit on a public forum. Below is a list of what was replaced new at the time of refit. - Every wire and switch, including the panel - Raymarine 7 inch touch screen Hybrid touch GPS and Transducer - Power pole with remote, 8 foot -Yamaha binnacle and cables -Polling platform (Quality T Tops) - Rub rail and insert -Two Optima Blue tops -Blue sea circuit breaker and battery switch - All connections high and dry in custom box inside console -Clarion head unit with usb port and JL marine speakers -Yamaha engine and key wiring harness -LED naviagation and anchor lights -Bilge pump -All hatches and lids were sprayed by LineX of Sarasota to match non skid - A truly bullet proof coating -Minn Kota RT 80/ST/ I Pilot with remote (never installed, brand new) -Dual Pro - Sportsman Series - Tri Pro three bank charger -Custom Sunbrella console cover I have decided to price this boat at $29k to forum members. If anyone has ever had a refit like this done before you know how quickly the expenses can add up. At that price I will be losing a significant amount of money on this project. This boat is currently on my lift in Anna Maria Island and can be wet tested at any time. You would have to get MBC to build you a new one to find a nicer MA21. I will be listing the boat here first.
