  1. Good price on 21 fusion

That there looks like a fun rig. Would like to fish it. Would make the trip to Lostman and back much nicer.
  2. A LETTER FROM LEFTY KREH

I received this email from the Gold Rush chapter of Trout Unlimited. For those of you that didn't see the barrage of posts on social media... I thought I would keep you in the loop. This is from the man himself... I know he will be missed by all of us at the shows, but the man has definitely earned a break! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To my friends,I was 92 in January and had a carotid artery operation. During testing the hospital determined my heart was only pumping 35% and must limit my physical activities followed by a rest. The industry was extremely helpful and last season was able to attend the shows, clinics, etc.Several weeks ago, I realized I was developing another problem, which is normal for someone nearly 93. It turns out I have congested heart failure. My pacemaker revealed there was a series of very rapid hear beats, which could cause a stroke. Fortunately a lot of doctor/friends are fly-fisherman and worked with me. In summary I have to give up travel and presentations as in the past.Everyone produces a certain amount of fluid in the body and excretes the excess. Because of the low heartbeat my body is not getting rid of all the fluids and I gained weight. My best friend Dr. Mark Lamos put me in the hospital and with back procedure they twice removed a liter and a half of fluid from my chest. After five days in the hospital. I lost weight.A week or so later I starting gaining weight again so it was back in the hospital for the same treatment. They reduced most of the fluid and returned home. I determined I was not going to continue back to the hospital. Mark decided to use medicine to control the excess fluid. It’s been a fine-tuning situation but looks like it’s starting work. This means the schedule I lived for decades is no longer valid and will spend most my time at home. As we get older we learn to adjust to what we can and cannot do. I have a number of interesting computer home projects on the computer and busier than a Syrian bricklayer. I’m not frustrated and I’m content My problem is I don’t have a lot of stamina and have to work around that. If Marks medical system works I should be busy and around for a year or two.I would like to be able to send this email to my friends but I don’t really know how to do this. So I’m asking others to help me spread the word through email. Because my lack of energy and stamina I having trouble answering emails (there are more than 400 on the computer) and not talking much on the phone. This is not meant to be unfriendly is learning to adjuster my situation. In summary I’m busy and content but I want you to know I am so appreciative you’ve have shared your lives with me. All The Best Friends,Lefty
  3. Snook, redfish, trout love this pilchard replica. Yozuri. Also love to toss white bucktail tipped with fresh shrimp. Catches everything.(does that count as arti?)
  4. Bass style leaning seat install

This is what I would suggest. I have the classic bass style seat installed, but wish I didn't. Where it is mounted is not built for that type of seat on my LT. It just doesnt feel strong enough. On the one in the picture, I would have an additional tube or holder to accomodate a beach style umbrella. This seat can be removed without leaving a 4-6" base plate. More expensive? Yes. But worth it IMHO.
  5. NU-ICE vs. real Ice

Ice forms @ 32 degrees, but it can be much colder. Ice carvers will let a block set out for a period of time to "warm up, or soften up" before carving. Maybe that's what is referred as "hot or wet ice". You are correct that beer will not get below 32 like that. Nothing in my opinion works better to preserve your catch than slush. I prefer to "cold kill" my fish. There is much less blood when cleaning and are held better. I might use Nu-ice to keep my food cold and dry, but my fish like ice.
  6. ALL QUIET

Trying to predict the path of the storm is like watching a drunk walk out of a bar. You have an idea where you think they might go but truth of the matter is there's no telling where they're going to end up. As for having a boat on the lift, I have seen the aftermath of a storm and witnessed boat dangling from a lift. Pretty bad deal. When you watch roofs being torn from buildings you can just imagine the odds of your boat surviving on the lift. I agree with what Troy said however even a category three storm is a serious deal.
  7. Garmin 740S For Sale

    Still available?
  8. Garmin GPS map 740s

    How much for the 740s?
  9. Mounting a i pilot riptide on 21 Master Angler

Its doable for one person, but you should get someone to help. Looks just about right in the pictures. If you glue the nuts and washers together first, then fashion a socket with a square peg, or something else to reach with, you will find it is easier to get the nuts started. Then you can reach them with the socket wrench to tighten. Good luck.
  10. Yamaha 130 V4

I was questioning a mechanic about the same issue. He suggested that I get an infrared thermometer ($12 @Walmart) run the motor until the alarm goes at which time you can check all around each part of the head with it. You should be able to discover where the hotspots are then you can focus your attention there. If you fail to find any hotspots your problem could be something else besides salt.
  11. Aluminum bunk brackets

Need to replace my galvanized bunk brackets. It's an E-ZLOADER with two bunks. Currently there are 3 brackets on each bunk. I'm wondering if two would do the job. For an 18 LT.
  12. Yeti Bucket

It's just like the tumblers. $40 for a cold beverage glass and you can get them all day at Walmart for less than $10 for the 30 ounce. But then again I'm not as brand sensitive as some, that is except for the boat I choose to run.
  13. 21' Maverick Master Angler Repower

The 21 with a 250 SHO is an awesome rig. That boat loaded with full gear, full livewell, and two full grown adults, is a 60+mph fishing machine. My buddy has this setup with a jackplate and it is great. You will never regret it.
  14. CL 17 MA

Nice! Somebody will get a nice rig.
  15. Recent, weird wildlive experiances

There are 3 bobcats in this group near Caxambas. You can only see two in this photo I also had dolphin stealing my bait in the mouth of the Big Marco river, fishing for king mackerel. My wife was catching blue runners for bait and would lure the dolphin off to the side and keep him occupied while I was able to cast. He was stealing my baits off a king mackerel rig with the nose hook and tail hook. I have never had them do this before.
  16. Need a new onboard battery charger

2x on the Noco Genius. I have the Gen3, and I love it plus the price was excellent. Three bank charger 10 amps per bank. Charges quickly and it only charges the batteries that need it. Maybe that's why they call it a genius.
  17. New 18 Redfisher battery question

This is the scematic provided by Capt Doss, (Hobo), a professional rigger to say the least. Blue Seas is the switch you want, as suggested by Capt. Doss. hope this is helpful
  18. Battery placement and question

I think a BlueSeas switch would be a better choice. I have two batteries for trolling motor(24v) under my console and my cranking battery is in the starboard stern compartment. Hope this is helpful. p.s. There is a lot of info on the "favorites" section.
  19. Peggy called this evening and I reserved a room and slip for June 23-24 at Tarpon Lodge. . It's on! See ya there.
  20. S.W. Owners tournament.

Had a real fun time. Looking fotward to next year.
  21. Need Advice: Fishing Wear - Sun Protection

Stohlquist Sun Glove Has a "faux leather palm" that wears well. If you order, might as well get two pair. $11.95. Available through Amazon or directly from Campmor. This Sun Protection Zone hat is also inexpensive, less than $20 on ebay and elswhere. Its my favorite hat so far. I pull both straps dowm under my chin. Kinda looks like a bonnet, but I can run with it like that. Brim holds up well. I think Wannaflatsfish (Dino), wears one or used to.
  22. Purina Fish Chow

Thanks for getting back. Think I'll give it a try.
