Original plan was to flush mount a 9" Garmin, even sent factory a B150M to install thru hull. Then as I read and researched more, everyone raving about FMT. So I decided to change and go with a 12" on top of the dash. The steering wheel looks in the line of site for a flush anyway. So the boat has a extra Garmin transducer (resale value, lol).

I’ll post better pics after installs. May take a week or two. Still gathering toys. Check out this new Monster trolling motor plug by Minn Kotta. It’s a beast!
  7. Sold my Gheenoe and I was between a Maverick & a Hewes Redfisher. Decided on the Redfisher since I really don’t pole the flats much. This is my 4th MBG boat (2-Pathfinders & a Cobia). Big thanks to Skip & the entire factory team that built a beautiful boat. She’s getting fitted for a custom cover today & here is my list of expensive upgrades: Simrad NSS12 Evo3 with FMT TotalScan Transducer Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 80lb/24v - 60” 2-Group 27 AGM Batteries JL Media Master 50 + Amp (wife/sandbar) 2- JL 8.8” Speakers Looking forward to all the knowledge this forum has to offer. I’ll take all & any advice on my rigging, maintenance, etc... Haze Grey Hull & Console Whisper Grey Non-Skid Custom Grey Cushions Yamaha 150

Thanks! I think you meant - you went with the Terrova not Ulterra. Thanks for the heads up on the 60” cause I will be mostly in Biscayne Bay and sometimes the finger channels- not grass flats. It may be a bit choppy, so I think 60” then would then be better. I was just concerned about it sticking out too far when stored on the 60”. Prob won’t get the Ulterra. I agree with you on the reviews and price. And Captpn - I would never trust that thing and go park - leave my boat floating alone - not in Miami. lol

Looking to buy a Minn Kota for my new Redfisher18. Thought of getting the Ulterra self deploy but have read many reviews with problems on the deploy engine and trim engine. The New Terrova balanced seems better than those old times with a string to pull. Any input of which way to go? Ulterra or Terrova? Also, what shaft do I go with? 54" or 60" ? Thanks!

I Want FMT! What Would You Do?

Have you thought of waiting to see what the NEW Garmin G3 Vision card looks like? It's supposed to launch at the Miami Boat Show next month.

    Redfisher 18

Congrats on your new boat. I just ordered one too with an SHO150. Wondering if you got the Jackplate and what Prop you went with? Is your boat squatting or is that an old model thing? Garmin or Simrad is basically user preference, I am going to flush mount a Garmin 942xs - if you ever need to change a flush mount, you can just use starboard if the new unit is smaller. I’ll prob get Minn Kota Ulterra - not sure on the length? 54” probably. Post a pic of your boat and let us know how it’s going and any tips for a new owner. I’m in your same boat literally. 😂 Delivery is Late December for me...

    2400 TRS ride quality

I have owned both the 22' and 24' Pathfinders and its a HUGE difference. The 2400 is a beast and floats just as shallow. No problem in 2' depths. Get a 4-blade prop with SHO and you will be impressed with the power/torque. I really miss the boat. Go offshore on good days and inshore as shallow as you want to be, 24' does it all. Also, this forum is a wealth of info, lots of good people to help. Good luck!
