    Trolling motor type question

Sometimes I wish I can do both - tiller and/or remote - but you'll get used to it. iPilot Anchor alone is worth the extra large remote choking your neck. After you get used to not having a tiller, you will never look back. Especially if you will be guiding - you will be able to move around the boat and still control it. But again, the anchor will be the biggest difference NOT losing your tiller.

    Total Scan Install Question

  4. Several years ago I sent some fish pics of us on our Pathfinder 2400 to Skip. Fast forward to today - I’m walking towards the MBG area and my son says “Hey that’s us” lol ... Pretty cool to see our pic on the banner at the Miami Boat Show. Thanks guys you made our day!
  5. Got myself an additional power cable & a DC/AC switcher and I’m good to go with my Simrad to set up at home

Back in MBG Family with new boat

I just got everything installed this past weekend. Haven’t used it yet, but you can’t go wrong with anything JL. In regards to 9” vs 12” - like everything in life - you get what you pay for & bigger is better.

You’ll definitely want the weight upfront. More advice if your getting the F150, when you unhitch from truck, drop the tongue low. 1st day I was on the boat with my son and we both went to the back and the bow popped up. Boat did a nice wheely. Thank god we were on grass and the engine skeg just dug into the dirt. But you want to be aware of it when your on trailer on dry land. Keeping the tongue low will help prevent that.
  8. Good point. I'll need to keep an eye on that. Thanks for the heads up.

TotalScan is 3 in 1 transducer. Yes, I have the NMEA connected and I can see the JL & Engine on Simrad Yes, all 3-batteries can go in center console. But, If you get a 150HP, you'll want that extra weight up front. Good luck and congrats on the new boat.
  10. Don’t trust it. Less things to break. Manual is quicker to deploy. I’m never going to launch and leave it floating alone. Finally, saved a few $100’s.
  11. Any technical issues you worried about or just looks? I like it because the port side also has 2-clam shells and they are both in the same exact location. Looks symmetrical when viewed from far (no pic sorry) also I prefer not seeing a cable going up the stern.
  12. It’s obviously an issue but I can live with it. I can definitely see over it sitting no problem, just nothing very close to bow. For cruising it’s fine. I find myself standing most of the time anyway. Also, you can always tilt it back for more vision or just lean over. Plus who drives a boat looking forward when you have a track to follow? 😉 😂

  15. 8.8” JL’s fit fine.
