  2. Upgrading Trolling motor

Thx For your input JEM! I just keep reading so many reviews about the Ulterra having issues. I’m not sure if the issues were fixed with the newer models. But now a buddy of mine mentioned a Rohdan trolling unit witch he swears by. I just love the fact of the auto deploy
  3. Upgrading Trolling motor

  4. Upgrading Trolling motor

Gents, I am upgrading my trolling motor on my 97 18' BayFisher. I am looking to purchase the new Minn Kota Ulterra. I am stuck on wether to go with the 54"/60" shaft??? I would like to fish the reefs down here in Miami and use the spot lock. I don't know if the 54" would hold under rough water. I would appreciate any recommendations/Opinions.... Thx
  5. Gents, I have recently purchased a 97 18' Hewes BayFisher that currently has an older 80lb Motor guide and need some help on what to purchase as an upgrade. I fish Biscayne bay and Flamingo, and also like to head out to the reef to do some reef fishing. I'm not to educated on the different models out there would appreciate if anyone can give me any suggestions. Minn Kota vs Motor Guide 54" or 60" Any help would be greatly appreciated Thx

Hey there bud, I just purchased the same boat and was also wondering the same question.
  9. Debating on a Hewes or Maverick

Thanks MPFIt! And yes majority of the skiffs in Flamingo are Mavericks or HellsBay.....
  10. Debating on a Hewes or Maverick

Awesome! I'm just a little worried about not having a bench! But I can deal with it to start. Will it be ok to pole around Flamingo?
  11. Debating on a Hewes or Maverick

I will start off used my first time around. I will primarily use the TM but will also want to try the poling around for reds in flamingo. I might be asking for too much lol I actually have my eye on a 1995 Hewes Bayfisher 16'. Is that a good start? Thanks for the responses!!
  12. Gents, New to the forum! I current fish the Biscayne bay & Flamingo area. Looking for a Flats boat that will allow me to get somewhat skinny and also be able to cross biscayne bay and also hit the near shore reefs. I currently own a 17' bay boat and got the itch to get a flats boat. What would you guys recommend? thanks for your time
